Lake County Board met April 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Present 16 - Member Altenberg, Member Casbon, Member Clark, Vice Chair Cunningham, Member Frank, Chair Hart, Member Hunter, Member Kyle, Member Maine, Member Parekh, Member Pedersen, Member Roberts, Member Simpson, Member Vealitzek, Member Wasik and Member Wilke

Absent 5 - Member Barr, Member Danforth, Member Hewitt, Member Sbarra and Member Snarski

CALL TO ORDER

Chair Hart called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Member Maine led the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS

Member Clark attended electronically. She was marked Present and eligible to vote.

CHAIR'S REMARKS

Thank you to Board Members for taking the time from your very busy schedule to attend this Special Call Meeting today. One of the things, when Bill Durkin was stepping down, he requested we move quickly to fill his seat on County Board. We do statutorily have 60 days to fill a seat. Bill served on this Board for many, many years and wanted as little time as possible without representation on this Board. I appreciate your making time today to be here and it means a lot to Bill as well.

Presentation of the Special Call Request and Legal notice of the Special Meeting.

Clerk O'Connor read the Notice of Special Call into the record.

Special recognition of Bill Durkin and his years of service to Lake County.

Resolution recommending the appointment of Steve Snarski as a member of the Lake County Board, representing District 8.

A motion was made by Member Roberts, seconded by Member Parekh, that this resolution be adopted. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: 12 - Member Altenberg, Member Casbon, Member Clark, Vice Chair Cunningham, Member Frank, Chair Hart, Member Kyle, Member Parekh, Member Roberts,

Member Vealitzek, Member Wasik and Member Wilke

Nay: 5 - Member Hunter, Member Maine, Member Pedersen, Member Sbarra and Member Simpson

Absent: 3 - Member Barr, Member Danforth and Member Hewitt

Not Present: 1 - Member Snarski

Swearing in of Steve Snarski to the Lake County Board, District 8.

Resolution providing for the appointments of Jennifer Clark as Chair of the Public Works, Planning and Transportation Committee, Gina Roberts as a member of the Public Works, Planning and Transportation Committee, Steve Snarski as a member of the Legislative and Health and Community Services Committees (replacing Gina Roberts), and Carissa Casbon as a member of the Law and Judicial Committee (replacing Jessica Vealitzek).

Member Snarski entered the meeting at 9:47 a.m.

A motion was made by Member Vealitzek, seconded by Member Kyle, that this appointment be approved. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: 18 - Member Altenberg, Member Casbon, Member Clark, Vice Chair Cunningham, Member Frank, Chair Hart, Member Hunter, Member Kyle, Member Maine, Member Parekh, Member Pedersen, Member Roberts, Member Sbarra, Member Simpson, Member Snarski, Member Vealitzek, Member Wasik and Member Wilke

Absent: 3 - Member Barr, Member Danforth and Member Hewitt
