Jim Carris, the GOP candidate for Congressional District 10, expressed his unwavering support for Israel as supporters gathered for the March for Israel on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. In a statement, Carris emphasized the strong alliance between the United States and Israel, rooted in shared values, democracy, and a commitment to freedom and has pledged to work tirelessly in Congress to uphold these values and ensure a robust bond between the two nations.

“As supporters of Israel march in our Nation’s capital today, I stand in solidarity with the people of Israel,” Carris said on Facebook.

“The unwavering alliance between the United States and Israel is rooted in shared values, democracy, and a commitment to freedom. Today’s march exemplifies unity and reinforces our shared commitment to stability, peace, and prosperity in the region. In Congress, I will tirelessly work to uphold these values and ensure our bond with Israel remains strong. To all those marching and to the people of Israel, your resilience inspires us.”

A large rally was organized on the National Mall by Jewish groups called March for Israel. It was a response against widespread protests criticizing Israel's military action in Gaza. According to The New York Times report, it aimed at showing solidarity after Oct.'s Hamas attack. Several speakers like Chuck Schumer and Mike Johnson rejected calls for a cease-fire while expressing unwavering support for Israel.

People from across the United States attended this rally standing united against rising antisemitism; they expressed concerns regarding criticism over Israeli actions.

On another note, in Illinois some left-wing organizations endorsed Hamas' actions; among them, BLM Chicago even celebrated the attack through an online post. Statehouse politicians refused to acknowledge this incident during the veto session according to State Rep.Martin McLaughlin (R-Barrington Hills).

McLaughlin criticized Illinois Democrats as reported by Lake County Gazette due to their silence following October's Hamas terror attack; he also questioned their lack of enthusiasm for condemning the Hamas terrorist organization. McLaughlin showed concerns about the legislators signing onto a letter he perceives as morally equivocating and veiled hatred.

Democrat U.S. Rep.Brad Schneider currently represents Illinois' 10th congressional district covering municipalities of Antioch, Fox Lake, Lake Villa, Grayslake, Mundelein, Vernon Hills, Waukegan, Highland Park, North Chicago, Park City, Lake Forest, Gurnee, Zion, Libertyville, Round Lake and Round Lake Beach in Lake County; Winnetka, Glencoe, Kenilworth, Northbrook, and Wheeling in Cook County; Spring Grove,Richmond, Hebron, Wonder Lake, and Johnsburg in McHenry County according to Schneider's website.
