FOIA Request to City Of Park City Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government, we at the Lake County Gazette have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) to the City Of Park City.

The request seeks access to records detailing all currently unpaid parking violations within the city's jurisdiction. The specific information requested includes the name of each offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date of the violation, and the total amount due.

As a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe that access to such public records is crucial for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to our readership.

In line with this commitment, we have requested that any associated fees be waived given our role as a media entity disseminating important information to the public.

We await a response from the City Of Park City and will continue our efforts to ensure that public institutions remain transparent and accountable.
