During the February Board meeting of District 100, several staff members were nominated for their outstanding contributions.
Janna Tuminaro and Kelly Kolodzik from Lincoln were recognized for their swift action in assisting a new student’s family with basic needs such as warm clothing, blankets, and food. They connected the family with both school and external resources to ensure ongoing support. This nomination was submitted by Beth Marchini.
Ashley Banks, Stephanie Cordray, and Natasha Gadomski from Washington Academy, Seth Whitman, and South Middle School were commended for their roles as SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) Leaders. They have been instrumental in vision planning, data collection, and coordinating with community organizations to foster social-emotional growth among students. Megan Johnson submitted this nomination.
Heather Peterson of Central Middle School received praise for her dedication to engaging students in before-and-after-school clubs. She volunteers extra hours to run a year-round chess club and is also involved in scholastic bowling. Abby Orduno submitted this nomination highlighting how Peterson has made her son feel welcome at school.
Yeimy Almaraz, Pilar Arellano, Susan Hagan, Jodi Medina, Maria Nungaray, Sandra Rivera, and Sandy Wilde from South Middle School were acknowledged by Purple Heart 7th Grade for their kindness and reliability as lunch staff. Their daily service puts smiles on many faces despite being underappreciated.
The district expressed gratitude towards all nominees: "Congratulations everyone and thank you for all you do for D100!"
