City of Highwood City Council met March 4

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER

1. Roll Call 7:31 PM

Present: Alderman Slavin, Falberg, Peterson, Hospodarsky

Absent: Alderman Levi, Alderman Fiore

Also Present City Manager Coren, Assistant City Manager Facchini and City Attorney Jablecki

2. Pledge of Allegiance

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

3.1. City Council: February 18, 2025

Motion made by Alderman Hospodarsky, seconded by Alderman Peterson.

All present voting aye by voice vote; motion carried.

3.2. Committee of the Whole: February 18, 2025

Motion made by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Slavin. All present voting aye by voice vote; motion carried.

5.1. Approval of the warrant list dated: March 4, 2025

Motion made by Alderman Peterson, seconded by Alderman Falberg. All present voting aye by roll call; motion carried.

11.1. Consideration of an ordinance amending the comprehensive fee schedule to create the lead service line compliance charge and increase water rate to $5.65 per 100 cubic feet and to add a lead service line compliance fee.

Motion made by alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Slavin. All present voting aye by roll call; motion carried.

12. New Business

12.1. Consideration of a motion directing the City Manager to engage Cornwell Engineering to complete a batch lead solubility study in an amount not to exceed $21,000.

Motion made by Alderman Falberg, seconded by Alderman Peterson. All present voting aye by roll call; motion carried.

12.2. A motion authorizing the City Manager to contract street sweeping services in an amount not to exceed $28,000.

Motion made by Alderman Hospodarsky, seconded by Alderman Peterson.

All present voting aye by roll call; motion carried.
