This week marks National Volunteer Appreciation Week, observed from April 20-26. During its meeting this week, the D103 Board of Education will recognize District 103 parent organizations—the PTO and Learning Fund Foundation—for their extensive volunteer efforts supporting staff, students, and parents.

"Our two organizations provide many educational events for students and staff," said a representative from the board. These events occur during school hours, evenings, and weekends. The organizations also sponsor field trips and musical performances, provide supplies and equipment, volunteer in and out of classrooms, and raise necessary funds to support teachers and the district.

The recognition highlights the countless hours members dedicate to enhancing the educational experience within the district.
