The highly anticipated grand reopening of Joe Parks Athletic Complex is set for May 1, 2025, marking the completion of renovations aimed at enhancing athletic experiences for the community. The event promises to be a celebration of both the facility’s rich history and its exciting future.

The newly upgraded complex is a central hub for outdoor sports enthusiasts, athletes, and families. With improvements made to both the baseball/softball and soccer spaces, Joe Parks Athletic Complex is now equipped with a new entrance, press boxes, batting cages, dugouts, concessions, and bathrooms. It has been designed to serve athletes of all ages and skill levels, making it one of the most premier sports complexes in the region.

"We are thrilled to welcome our community back to the Joe Parks Athletic Complex after an extensive renovation," said Jeff Milburn. "Although the final touches, including more extensive pathways, a centralized pavilion, and shade trees will be added this summer, we wanted to have a grand reopening honoring the people, like Joe Parks, who were the foundational figures whose dedication, and tireless efforts played a pivotal role in shaping the Byron School District into what it has become today. We’re excited for everyone to experience the upgraded facilities. "

The grand reopening event on May 1 will begin at 4:00 PM, featuring a ribbon- cutting ceremony and a JV and Varsity Baseball game against Stillman Valley. Family members of Joe Parks will be in attendance to celebrate this milestone.

The Joe Parks Athletic Complex is a key resource for the local community, hosting youth leagues, adult recreation programs, and various tournaments throughout the year.
