The Coalers Athletics program recently honored its senior girls soccer players for their contributions to the team. The recognition took place during Senior Night activities on May 1.
Chloe Pluger, a four-year member of the Coalers Girls Soccer Team, was recognized for her contributions. In addition to soccer, Pluger participated in basketball, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Link Leaders, Coalers with Character and Yearbook. She will continue her education at Eureka College majoring in political science with a minor in psychology and play for the Red Devils Women’s Soccer Team. She was accompanied by her parents Matt and Candi Pluger and Kelly Flood and Al Zuccarello.
Corinna Barkley has played four years of soccer for the Coalers. Her contributions were celebrated during Senior Night activities. Barkley also participated in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Coalers with Character, Speech, Math Team, National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. She will attend Augustana College majoring in political science on a pre-law track and continue athletics as part of the Augie Soccer Team. Her parents Stephanie Barkley and Clark Barkley accompanied her.
Aylie Castle is a two-year member of the Coalers Girls Soccer Team who was recognized for her participation. Castle also played volleyball and took part in National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, EmpowHER, Coalers with Character and Students Standing Strong. She plans to attend Calvin University pursuing a degree in education to become an elementary school teacher. Her parents Becky and Tyler Castle were present on Senior Night.
Kylee Kennell is a four-year member of the team whose commitment was honored during Senior Night activities. Kennell also participated in golf and basketball while being part of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), National Honor Society Coaler Creations Yearbook among others. She will attend the University of Southern Indiana to acquire a bachelor’s degree in Health Services with further plans for occupational therapy degrees. Escorting Kylee were her parents Danielle and Harlan Kennell.
Ava Meyer has been with the team for four years; she too was recognized during Senior Night activities on May 1st . During high school Ava participated In Science Club Art Club Band serving as drum major besides other clubs like NHS- SHH etc..Meyer intends to join University Illinois Urbana-Champaign UIUC major- ing Animal Science Veterinary Medicine pursued thereafter Parents Sara Brooks- Eric Amanda Meyer escorted
