Lake Forest School District 67 has extended an invitation to students, families, and staff to participate in the upcoming Lake Forest Day parade.

The 117th Lake Forest Day, organized by American Legion McKinlock Post No. 264, is scheduled for August 5–6, 2025, in Lake Forest, Illinois. According to the event's website, festivities will include a carnival on Tuesday evening from 6–10 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. at West Park. Wednesday's events will also feature a 5K and Fun Run at 7 a.m., followed by the parade at 10 a.m., which will start at Western and Vine Avenues and proceed north toward West Park. During this time, Western Avenue will be closed between 9:45–11:30 a.m. The theme for this year is "Shop, Dine, Enjoy Lake Forest Every Day."

The parade is expected to include up to 80 entries featuring local groups, school and church organizations, neighborhood floats, and high school marching bands. Entry is free of charge; however, applications must be submitted by July 23 to be considered for awards in several categories such as children’s groups, civic organizations, and commercial entities. Award recipients will be announced online after 3 p.m. on August 6.

Participants are required to adhere to guidelines ensuring safety and organization during the event. These include maintaining continuous movement along the route, refraining from throwing items into the crowd, and utilizing designated drop-off and pick-up zones based on parade order numbers. The event relies heavily on volunteers with all proceeds from the carnival and raffle supporting local veterans and youth initiatives.

Lake Forest Elementary School District 67 serves approximately 1,600 students across grades Pre-K through eight.
