The Village of Vernon Hills has reached a new five-year agreement with Waste Management (WM) for garbage, recycling, and yard waste or organics collection. The current contract with WM is set to expire on November 30, 2025, and the new contract will take effect on December 1, 2025.

This contract applies to single-family and multi-family residences within the village, generally those homes that have a garage and driveway. Businesses and commercial residential properties are not included in this franchise agreement.

The updated agreement introduces two changes. Residents will have access to a new Organics Drop Off location. Additionally, there will be an option for off-season curbside organics collection.

Further details about the agreement can be found on the Village's WM Contract webpage.
