National Night Out will take place on August 5 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Hidden Creek AquaPark, located at 1220 Fredrickson Place. The event offers community members a chance to swim, meet with Highland Park Police Department officers, and learn about local organizations and resources. Activities planned for the evening include a dunk tank, touch-a-truck, bounce house, and other attractions.

Daniel Espinal from the Ravinia Festival Steans Institute Singers Program is scheduled to perform the National Anthem. Snacks will be provided by Judy's Pizza and Highland Pop.

A new feature this year is a raffle benefiting the Highland Park Police Department Benevolent Association’s "Shop with a Cop" program. This initiative supports children in need during the holiday season by giving them an opportunity to shop for clothes and toys with police officers. Raffle prizes include a tour of the police department, gift cards to Michael’s and Backyard Grill, free sandwiches at Potbelly, among others.

The event aims to strengthen partnerships between residents, law enforcement, non-profit groups, and agencies in order to promote public safety. Sponsors include the City of Highland Park, Park District of Highland Park, Costco, Highland Park Electric, Highland Pop, Jewel, Judy's Pizza, McDonald's, Sunset Foods, and Target.

Many local businesses have contributed raffle prizes in support of Shop with a Cop.
