Beginning September 11, Main Street in Wauconda will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Lewis Avenue and Slocum Lake Road. The closure is part of the Bangs Lake Outfall Improvement Project, which requires moving the outfall creek slightly south of its current location near My Flavorite Place at 104 S. Main Street. Detour routes will be marked with signage.
The Village of Wauconda and the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission are working together on this project. Residents with questions can contact the Wauconda Public Works Department at 847-526-9610.
