Japanese graduate students share culture through origami and dance at Zion elementary schools

West and East Elementary students participated in a cultural event on Friday, September 5, when Dr. Jill Bruellman, a professor at the College of Lake County (CLC), visited with graduate students from Japan. The visitors introduced Japanese traditions to the students by teaching origami and performing a dance.

The event was held as part of efforts to expose students to different cultures. West Elementary School and East Elementary School are both part of Zion Elementary School District 6, which serves several schools in Lake County, including Beulah Park Elementary School, Elmwood Elementary School, Lakeview School, Shiloh Park Elementary School, and Zion Central Middle School.
