The Coal City Boy’s Golf team achieved its best score of the season with a 174, though it was not enough to surpass Streator, which finished with a 155.
Jaxon Duke led the Coalers with a personal best round of 39. Trevor Walker also set a new personal record by scoring 45.
“It is great to see players getting their best scores as the season gets into the last couple weeks of the season,” said Coach Harlan Kennell.
Other team members who competed on Tuesday included Kory Lovell and Frankie Ponio, both scoring 45; Reed Sulzberger, who shot a 46; and Cody Scheer, who posted a score of 52.
The team is scheduled to play again this afternoon—Wednesday, Sept. 10—in a conference matchup against Reed-Custer.
