Access to the Barrington Area Library in Barrington, Illinois, will be affected by upcoming roadwork on Route 14. The project, which includes railway underpass construction, will result in the closure of Route 14 between Valencia Avenue and Hough Street in both directions for at least four weeks starting Monday, September 15.

According to the library, vehicles will still be able to reach the building using Route 14 via Lake-Cook/Main Street. "Local traffic" access is permitted during this phase of construction. However, there will be no vehicle access through Berry Road, and left turns from Valencia Avenue onto Route 14 will not be allowed.

Pedestrian and bicycle crossings at Berry and Route 14 will also be closed. Those traveling on foot or by bike are advised to use the crosswalk at Main Street and Route 14 or approach from Citizens Park paths.

The library plans to keep its regular hours throughout the duration of the project. "We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time, and we also appreciate your questions and concerns regarding the construction work. Your safety is our top priority."

Library visitors are encouraged to use alternative services during the roadwork period. These include Borrow By Mail, automated pick-up lockers, and a large selection of downloadable e-books, audiobooks, and magazines. "We will continue to provide the very best Library service to you."
