On September 12, 2025, United Township High School District 30 released several announcements for students and staff. The cafeteria menu for the day included breaded chicken sandwiches, jalapeno cheeseburgers, oven-baked onion rings, mixed green salad, and assorted fresh fruit.
Students were reminded that Homecoming permission slips for outside guests are available in the general office or student services. Forms must be submitted with the guest's ID by Wednesday, September 24th. Students were also advised to monitor their discipline visits to student services if they wish to attend the dance.
The district highlighted two options for students to access the internet on their Chromebooks at home. The first is a community-wide WiFi network called LinQ, which covers much of East Moline, Silvis, Carbon Cliff, Colona, and surrounding areas. UTHS Chromebooks connect automatically to this network under the name LinQ_Edu. For those outside these coverage areas, a limited number of wireless hotspots are available for checkout from the Student Store after obtaining a permission sheet from a counselor.
Information was provided about an upcoming Europe Trip in summer 2026. Interested students can pick up an informational flier from Mrs. Monson in room 223E. There are eight spots left; sign-ups are open until September 19th with a $200 discount on the overall cost of the trip.
Seniors interested in retaking the ACT can do so at UTHS on October 17th by signing up at the counseling office by September 26th. AP testing sign-ups are ongoing; students enrolled in AP classes will register through their teachers while others should visit the counseling office.
For sports, girls interested in bowling who missed the meeting on September 10th were encouraged to contact Coach Krack for more information.
Several clubs announced meetings and activities. The Gearheads Club meets weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:15 PM in the Auto Mechanics shop; sign-up sheets are available from Mr. Ron or Mr. Thirtyacre as well as in the counseling office. The LGBT+ club will meet next Tuesday, September 16th, in Miss Williams' room (125E) to prepare for Ally Day and provide snacks. A new Mariachi Band is forming with a kickoff meeting and jam session scheduled for Monday, September 15th after school in Room 100S; participants should bring instruments to the Music Office before school for storage.
