Dr. Ginny Hiltz, principal of Meadowbrook Elementary School, has written a children's book centered on Krieger, the facility dog for Northbrook School District 28. The book, titled "Krieger’s Crew: A School Facility Dog’s Journey," tells the story of how Krieger assists students and teachers at his school.

“Facility dogs, a special type of trained therapy dog, can fill a unique role and have a huge positive impact on their school communities,” Dr. Hiltz said.

Krieger joined District 28 as its facility dog in 2020 after previously being stationed at Greenbriar Elementary School. He is certified by Canines 4 Comfort. The book is scheduled for publication in November and is available for preorder. Dr. Hiltz and Krieger are also expected to appear live on Good Day Chicago (FOX 32) on Thursday, Oct. 2 at around 7:20 a.m.
