The West Youth Leadership Team recently partnered with Erica Delgado and retired social workers from Zion Elementary School District 6 for an event called "Beauty Beyond the Break." The event focused on promoting mindfulness and healing by allowing participants to smash plates as a form of healthy emotional release. Organizers plan to use the broken pieces to create community mosaics, which will represent growth, renewal, and beauty.

"This event encouraged mindfulness and healing through plate smashing as a healthy emotional release. The broken pieces will soon become community mosaics, symbolizing growth, renewal, and beauty," according to organizers.
