The Coal City High School girls golf team finished second at the Illinois Central Eight (ICE) Conference Tournament held at Wolf Creek Golf Course on September 22. This marked the team's third round at the course in a week.
Three players from Coal City earned All-Conference honors: Liv Sulzberger, Joey Kline, and Emma Sinkular. Sinkular posted a career-low score of 89, becoming the ICE conference individual champion. Sulzberger and Kline each shot 103, also career lows for an 18-hole round.
Other team members competing included Kayla Kowlaski, Jackie Dodge, and Abi Rose.
The team is scheduled to play again in Ottawa on September 24 before preparing for Regionals next week.
Coal City Community Unit School District 1 includes several schools across Grundy and Will counties such as Coal City Early Childhood Center, Coal City Elementary School, Coal City High School, Coal City Intermediate School, and Coal City Middle School.
