United Township High School District 30 has announced a range of activities and opportunities for students as the school year progresses.

On September 30, an informational session will be held about a student trip to Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia scheduled for June 2027. The session will take place at 6:00 pm in the Commons. Students and parents can RSVP by scanning a QR code sent via email or found on posters in the school. Those who RSVP become eligible for a $200 discount and entry into a raffle for a $500 scholarship. Mr. Greer is available to answer any questions about the trip.

Students interested in volunteering with senior citizens are encouraged to connect with ALTERNATIVES, a social services organization based in Moline, Illinois. Interested students should see Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor, for more information.

Black Hawk College is hosting its 'Transfer Night' event tonight for students planning to attend Black Hawk before transferring to an Illinois state school. Students seeking additional details are advised to contact Black Hawk College directly or speak with their UT counselor or Mr. Davis.

Several events are scheduled at United Township High School this week:

- On Tuesday, September 30, representatives from the U.S. Navy will visit.

- On Wednesday, October 1, an ISAC representative will meet with students regarding FAFSA applications; the University of Dubuque will also be present during Period 6 (students must sign up in the Counseling Office), along with representatives from the United States Coast Guard.

- On Thursday, October 2, representatives from the U.S. Army will visit UT.

Freshmen are invited to attend a cookout hosted by Link Crew after school on Tuesday at the softball concessions area from 3-5 pm before supporting their Panthers team. Food is provided; attendees should bring their student ID and bus passes are available if needed.

The speech team reported strong interest at its recent informational meeting. Students wishing to join should sign up outside Mr. Greer's room (224E) by Wednesday, October 1st or email him if they missed the meeting.

Student Council meetings are paused this week and will resume after break.

Homecoming week activities continue today with a Kahoot game during lunch and "Fun Night" from 6 to 8 pm at the UT Tennis Courts; Octeen will sell drinks during this event. Tomorrow's theme is "East Egg vs West Egg," encouraging students to wear country club or comfortable attire. Homecoming ticket sales begin today at lunch and run through the week—tickets cost $13 for singles and $25 for couples.
