Students at United Township High School received several updates and reminders in the November 6, 2025 announcements.
The school cafeteria menu featured Mandarin orange chicken, fried rice, vegetable egg rolls, Mike’s cheese bites, broccoli, baby carrots with dip, mixed berry fruit cups, and applesauce. Students were reminded that the microwave has been cleaned and should remain clean for everyone’s use. The message stated: "Students, the microwave has been cleaned, and we would like to keep it that way. Please cover your food when using it. If it continues to be a problem, the microwave will not return until January 2026. Thank you for keeping it clean for everyone to enjoy."
Yearbook Senior Baby Ads are available for purchase until November 7. Each ad costs $30 and allows space for a picture and a brief message to graduating seniors. Order forms can be found in the General Office or Mrs. Green's room (126E). The deadline to preorder a yearbook is December 19; books cost $50 if ordered by then through Skyward or the General Office. After this date, yearbooks will only be available in May at an increased price of $60 with limited supply.
In guidance news, students were informed that the Army National Guard would be present in the Commons area during all lunch periods to discuss college payment options and career opportunities. Seniors were encouraged to check scholarship lists weekly on Google Classroom or in the counseling office. The latest scholarships include those from auto dealerships, for students with hunting licenses, and full tuition awards to Black Hawk College.
Students considering Black Hawk College were reminded that November 3-7 is Free Application Week.
There was also information about attending Masterworks II Diaspora at Adler Theatre on November 8 featuring guest artists Richard Strauss and Billy Childs with saxophonist Steven Banks making a special appearance. "Students & Teachers, if you are interested in attending the Masterworks II Diaspora at the Adler Theatre on November 8, please contact Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor. Guest artists will be Richard Strauss and Billy Childs. Special guest appearance will be Steven Banks (the saxophonist). The event starts at 7:30 p.m. Students get in FREE. Must see Mr. Davis for ticket information!"
Clubs meeting this week include Gearheads at 3:15 p.m., Gamers Club on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., Unified Sports yearbook photos on Wednesday, November 12 (participants should wear their Unified Sports T-shirts), Student Council on Friday morning at 7:30 a.m., and P7 club which is rescheduled for next Friday.
