Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) records show that 84.0 percent of Prairie Ridge High School's (PRHS) 2015 graduating class enrolled in college within 12 months of graduation.
The 2015 state average for students in public schools was 70 percent.
For PRHS, its college enrollment rate marks an improvement over 2014, when 79.0 percent of its graduates chose post-secondary education.
Among high schools in McHenry County, the Class of 2015 college-readiness rates were all lower than at PRHS. The data, collected by the National Student Clearinghouse, includes two- and four-year colleges.
Enrollment at PRHS in 2015 was 1,481; 401 (27.08 percent) were seniors.
Also, ISBE said 71.8 percent of PRHS seniors were "college ready" in 2015, vs. an average of 46 percent statewide.
All students who score a 21 on the ACT qualify as "college ready."
PRHS students did better on math (65.1 percent) and English (83.7 percent) and worse on science (57.5) and reading (60.6).
Only 44.8 percent of PRHS students were college ready in all four subjects, ISBE said.
