Report: Grass Lake spent $18,753 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Grass Lake School District 36 is up 10 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $17,053 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $18,753 in 2016-17.

The district's enrollment remained unchanged over the same period, with 180 students.

Grass Lake's spending in 2016-17 was 45 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
