HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR IN-PERSON LEARNING

Dr. Wilcox shared the D102 Parent/Student Handbook Addendum which contains our health and safety protocols for in-person learning. The document and required form will go out to K-5 in-person parents on Friday. We must have this on file before students begin in-person, so we are asking for submission by Monday, October 12 and 3PM, most especially important for students in kindergarten and grade 4 who begin on Tuesday, October 13.

The handbook is issued to address specific protocols and procedures designed to keep students and staff safe as the District transitions to the reopening schools for some in-person learning. The safety and security of our students, staff and community members remains our top priority

Dr. Wilcox further discussed symptom screening for students, hand washing/sanitizing, face coverings, PPE, social distancing, daily disinfecting in our buildings, protocols for students and staff with COVID-19 like symptoms, contact tracing, quarantining, and temporary school closure if necessary. Dr. Wilcox stressed that education will continue if a student or staff member is ill. The Board had great questions, input, and positive feedback of the district’s plan.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

One parent had a question on the lunch program which was answered.
