Solano is a longtime Grayslake resident where he lives with his wife, four kids and two dogs. In addition to his financial services career, Solano is a writer who is currently working on his second book.

“Adam began his career in the financial services industry with Mass Mutual in February 1993. He later branded his practice under Lakeside Financial Group located in Grayslake, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago,” according to Solano’s campaign website. “Adam is the past president of his local professional association, NAIFA Chicago and NAIFA Illinois. He has been a member of the Million Dollar Round Table since 1997 with 12 Court of the Table and four Top of the Table qualifications. Solano has also written various articles focusing on insurance and annuities for industry trade magazines. He was also featured in Insurance News magazine as a "rising star" in the industry in recognition of his leadership and service.

"In 2009 he was recognized as one of Advisor Today magazine’s ‘4 Under 40’ recipients and in 2017 he appeared on WTTW’s live TV news program, 'Chicago Tonight' to debate the Fiduciary Rule with Terry Savage and its impact on the financial services profession,” according to his website.

Solano will take on State Sen. Melinda Bush (D-Grayslake) in the 2022 general election. He last ran for office for the Illinois House of Representatives District 62 in the 2018 seat, losing to Ken Idstein in the primary, Ballotpedia reported.

Solano currently serves as the Avon Township Finance Committee chairman, his LinkedIn account states.

The new 31st District includes all or parts of Grayslake, Libertyville, Round Lake, Round Lake Park, Lindenhurst, Winthrop Harbor, Beach Park and Old Mill Creek.
