Presentation and Discussion on Heat Smart Chicagoland and Grow Geo Chicagoland.
∙ Midwest Renewable Energy Association and Citizens Utility Board have prepared an informational presentation on upcoming group buy programs available for Lake County residents.
∙ Staff will seek direction on local partnership with organizations to endorse Heat Smart Chicagoland and Grow Geo Chicagoland.

∙ Staff will provide updates on Single Use Plastics Outreach, Farmer's Fridge implementation, and other items.

Resolution directing the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals to conduct a public hearing on proposed text amendments to Chapter 151 of the Lake County, Illinois, Code of Ordinances relating to regulation of fill/grade operations in unincorporated Lake County.
∙ At the February 1, 2023, Planning, Building, Zoning and Environment Committee meeting, the Committee directed staff to initiate the text amendment process for fill/grade operations.
∙ In light of recent trends, Planning, Building and Development staff are recommending consideration of such amendments be conducted as efficiently and expeditiously as possible.
∙ To minimize delay, a resolution has been prepared for County Board action directing the Zoning Board of Appeals to conduct a public hearing upon staff’s completion of draft amendments.

Resolution directing the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals to conduct a public hearing on proposed text amendments to Chapter 151 of the Lake County, Illinois, Code of Ordinances relating to sustainable energy facilities in unincorporated Lake County.
∙ To further new climate goals set forth in the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), a state law was passed on January 27, 2023, which prescribes county regulations for new commercial solar and wind facilities and mandates county adoption of such regulations within 120 days.
∙ In light of this statutory deadline, to minimize delay in considering regulations for unincorporated Lake County, the attached County Board resolution directs the Zoning Board of Appeals to conduct a public hearing upon staff’s completion of corresponding draft amendments.
∙ A resolution has been prepared for County Board action directing the Zoning Board of Appeals to conduct a public hearing on the proposed amendments.
