Q3 2022 Recap: 3 parolees from Lake County convicted of crimes against justice set for release

There were three offenders convicted of crimes against justice living in Lake County released on parole during the third quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Lake County Gazette.

The data shows all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 27. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 31-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Emmanuel Lugo. He was convicted in 2021 when he was 24 years old. He is now 26.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of crimes against justice were paroled during the third quarter of 2022 in each Illinois county.
