The Lake Bluff Park District has announced that South Beach construction is still underway but should be wrapping up soon.
“South Beach construction is continuing and the access road is closed 6:45am-7:00pm Monday - Friday. Beach goers may reach the beach via the stairs using caution when crossing the beach access road,” the Lake Bluff Park District said on Facebook.
Construction equipment has been prevalent on roadways throughout May.
“Lots of construction equipment on beach access roadway today as shown below Wednesday and Thursday there will be approximately 15 dump trucks hauling continuously, 10 to 12 hours each day, please use care crossing the access road via the stairs to beach,” Lake Bluff Park District said on Facebook.
Pilings are being installed at the beach by contractors.
The Park District said the work will be ongoing through the first week of June.
Officials have said the construction “may cause nearby loud noise and ground vibrations.”
The beach also underwent sand replenishment Lake Bluff Park District said “will help provide you with a much better beach experience this year. The access road and beach will remain closed until work is completed, around 4 PM.”
