As the fall season progresses, various events are being organized in the 26th District. On October 26th, a Prescription Drug Take Back Event will take place at the Barrington Police Department. This will be followed by an IPASS On Demand Event on October 29th at Mundelein Village Hall, co-hosted with State Representative Marty McLaughlin and the Illinois Tollway. A Veterans Appreciation Luncheon & Expo is scheduled for November 2nd at Lake Zurich Knights of Columbus Hall.

State Senator McConchie has called for constituents to submit photos and stories of veterans to be displayed in the Illinois Capitol from November 11 to 25. "The tribute honors the brave men and women who have served their country," stated McConchie.

In legal news, jury selection has begun in the trial of former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan. Madigan faces charges related to a bribery scheme involving Commonwealth Edison. Republican lawmakers are pushing for ethics reforms to prevent similar issues in the future.

The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) warns about increased scams targeting students with loans due to challenges in federal relief programs. Families are advised to be cautious of scammers promising lower rates or loan forgiveness.

Upcoming events include a Senior Health Fair on October 23rd and several other community activities as listed above.

For more information on these events or any inquiries, residents can contact local offices directly.
