Mokena to consider building alterations, expansion

The Village of Mokena Site Plan and Architectural Review Committee is scheduled to convene at 6 p.m. on November 6 to deliberate on requests from two businesses seeking modifications at their current sites. The meeting will take place at Mokena Village Hall.

According to the committee's meeting agenda, Jonathan Leonard of the Aspen Group has submitted an application for exterior changes at 11120 Front St., Mokena. The business is seeking a favorable recommendation from the committee regarding its site plan, exterior lighting, signage, and building elevations for alterations to the existing structure.

The agenda also indicates that Jay Bradarich Sr. of Landscape Construction Services has applied on behalf of CDE Collision Center for a building addition and site modifications. Bradarich seeks a positive recommendation for changes to the building and property located at 10001 W 191st St., Mokena. The application involves adjustments to the site plan, landscape plan, exterior lighting, and elevations for a proposed expansion of the current building.

According to the village website, the Site Plan and Architectural Review Committee meets to evaluate non-residential development site plans and building elevations with the aim of enhancing the overall aesthetics and functionality of business site development. The committee gathers at 6 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at the village hall located at 11004 Carpenter St., Mokena.

The website lists commissioners as Lang Beiswanger, landscape architect; Christ Krestel, architect; Tom Murray from the Mokena Fire Department; Glenn Smutny, architect; Darcie Gabrisko, civil engineer; Jillian Hersted, Planning Commission/Zoning Board representative; Dennis Merz as Frankfort Fire alternate; Joe Cirelli as Mokena Fire alternate; and Trustee Terry German serving as Village Board liaison.
