FOIA Request Sent to City of Highland Park Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024

FOIA Request to City of Highland Park Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

At the Lake County Gazette, we have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Highland Park in Illinois. Our request, dated October 28, 2024, seeks detailed information about all unpaid parking violations in the city.

As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we have asked for a list of all parking violations currently unpaid. This list should include the name of the offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date of the violation, and total due.

We believe that access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information as a media organization, we have also requested a fee waiver for this information.

We await a response from the City of Highland Park and will continue to keep our readers informed about this and other local government matters.
