Brushwood Center is set to host a celebration in honor of Black History Month, featuring an afternoon of music and food.
The event will take place on February 16 from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Tickets are priced at $10 for the concert only or $20 for both the concert and culinary experience.
Angela Walker, a U.S. Navy Veteran and jazz vocalist, will curate the musical afternoon showcasing cultural contributions of African Americans past and present through dance, drama, multimedia, and music.
Attendees also have the option to participate in a workshop prior to the performance. Jeff Williams from From Hood to Table will lead a session in the renovated culinary studio covering the history of Black farming and cuisine while teaching Soul Food recipes that can be enjoyed during the performance.
