Lake Forest is actively investing in infrastructure as part of its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, focusing on community enhancement for current and future generations. The projects listed are tentatively proposed, awaiting City Council approval, with the final list expected in May.

As of March 2025, key projects underway and planned include:

- **Deerpath Streetscape Project:** This initiative aims to improve safety with new crosswalks, improved sightlines, and traffic calming measures. Additional enhancements include planting new trees and adding decorative elements to beautify the area.

- **Ahwahnee Road Storm Sewer:** Replacing an undersized storm sewer pipe to improve drainage along Ahwahnee Road, Ahwahnee Lane, and within the Deerpath Golf Course.

- **Gorton Patio Project:** This project will replace the existing patio to address significant stormwater drainage issues.

- **Waveland Park Pavilion:** Plans are underway to transform the pavilion into an open-air space reflecting community input and aligning it with other city park pavilions.

- **Deerpath Intersection Traffic Light & ADA Improvements:** Upgrading traffic light system infrastructure nearing the end of its useful life span while incorporating ADA pedestrian crossing improvements at Golf Lane and Hastings Road intersections.

- **Cherokee School Sidewalk Connection Project:** Scheduled for summer, this project will add sidewalk connections across six intersections featuring new curb ramps and striped crosswalks. It is funded locally along with a federal Safe Routes to School grant.

- **Roads, Sidewalks, and Bike Paths:** In addition to annual street resurfacing programs, the final section of the McClory Bike Path from Old Elm to Westleigh will be widened this year following high priority rankings by residents in a Community-Wide Survey.

- **Tennis and Basketball Court Improvements:** Resurfacing tennis and basketball courts at South Park and Waveland Park while reconstructing tennis courts at West Park is scheduled for this year.
