Woodland Middle School is seeking volunteers for the upcoming Jr. Achievement Town event, scheduled for Wednesday, May 28 and Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 8:20 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event offers middle school students an opportunity to experience adult life by assigning them careers with corresponding education requirements and salaries. As newly graduated "adults," students will navigate the "town" to make decisions on housing, transportation, insurance, food essentials, and more.

Through this simulation, students aim to learn the value of education, importance of budgeting within their means, and skills for independent living while being involved in their community.

Topics covered include:

- Savings & Retirement

- Housing & Insurance

- Transportation

- Food, Clothing & Entertainment Budget

- Education Costs

- Charitable Giving

- Self-Care

Parent and community volunteers are needed to engage students in critical thinking about budget management and educational benefits. No experience is required as all necessary supplies and information will be provided at each station.

To volunteer:

1. Fill out the Parent Volunteer Forms

2. Sign up for a slot on the Sign-Up Genius List

For further inquiries or assistance with signing up, contact Sam Gatyas at sgatyas@dist50.net.
