The Village of Hawthorn Woods is celebrating a significant milestone, marking ten years of environmental stewardship as a Tree City USA. Over the past decade, the village has demonstrated its commitment to urban forestry by planting more than 2,000 trees, contributing to a greener and healthier community.
"We’re proud to mark a decade of environmental stewardship here in the Village of Hawthorn Woods," said village officials.
The achievement was made possible through the collective efforts of residents, staff, and community partners. "Thank you to our residents, staff, and community partners who have helped make this possible," officials added.
The Tree City USA program provides recognition for cities and towns that are committed to maintaining and expanding their public trees. Hawthorn Woods' dedication over the past ten years highlights its focus on sustainability and environmental health.
"Together, we’re growing a legacy of sustainability," concluded the statement from village leaders.
