Residents in the Hawthorn Woods Country Club community are experiencing issues with their water service following a watermain break affecting several neighborhoods. The Village of Hawthorn Woods has been in contact with Aqua Illinois, the company responsible for local water service, to address the situation.
Aqua Illinois reported that repairs to the broken watermain have been completed. However, some residents may still notice brown water coming from their taps. According to Aqua Illinois, affected residents should flush their faucets using cold water for 10 minutes until the water runs clear.
A Boil Water Advisory has also been issued for property owners on Harborside Way, Twin Eagles Court, Shore Acres Drive, and Tournament Drive. These residents were notified by email last night and again at 8:00 a.m. this morning.
