Recreational fires remain permitted in the area, with specific regulations in place. According to local guidelines, only seasoned firewood, charcoal, natural gas, or LPG gas may be used as burn materials for fire pits, barbecues, or cooking devices. All materials must stay within the confines of the designated fire pit, fireplace, or open flame cooking device. Burning landscape waste is not allowed and fire pits should be positioned at a safe distance from residential structures. Residents are reminded not to leave fire pits unattended.

For those with questions about these rules, Village Hall can be reached at (847) 438-5500.

The Village offers landscape waste tags for weekly collection through Waste Management. Tags are also available at Country Bumpkin Garden Center of Mundelein. An annual fee option for weekly landscape pick-up is available by contacting Waste Management at (800) 796-9696.
