Mayor Brian Brubaker | Round Lake Village
Residents in Round Lake are being reminded about recent changes to water and sewer rates. The adjustment, approved by the Village Board in November 2024, was put into effect on January 1 and May 1, 2025. Since then, several billing cycles have been completed.
The Village notes that each bill includes both a fixed fee and a usage-based fee. This means that higher water use will result in a higher total bill. Residents are encouraged to check their actual water usage when comparing current bills to previous ones, rather than only looking at the dollar amount.
Village staff have made efforts to keep residents informed about these changes. Information has been shared through utility bills, website updates, e-newsletters, social media, and a special “How Our Water Works” insert included with bills in March.
Summer activities such as lawn care and filling pools may lead to increased water use during this period. The Village asks residents to review their usage details for better understanding of any changes in their charges.
“We appreciate your continued understanding and support as we work to maintain and improve essential water and sewer infrastructure,” according to the statement from the Village.
