Hooper Elementary celebrates successful first Deal Day focused on leadership

Hooper Elementary School recently held its first Deal Day, an event designed to encourage leadership and collaboration among students. As part of the Leader in Me program, students from different grade levels partnered together during the event.

According to school officials, "During Deal Day, students partner with other grade levels as part of our Leader in Me program. This special time helps foster leadership, build friendships across grades, and give students opportunities to learn from and support one another. We are proud to see our Hooper Heroes growing as leaders and strengthening our school community!"

B.J. Hooper Elementary School is one of several schools represented by Lake Villa Community Consolidated School District 41 in Lake County. Other schools in the district include Olive C. Martin School, Peter J. Palombi School, and William L. Thompson School (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

Data from the Illinois State Board of Education shows that Lake Villa Community Consolidated School District 41 employs 157 teachers with an average salary of $60,885 before pension contributions; most teachers are women (92.4 percent), while men make up 7.6 percent of the teaching staff.
