Highland Park will hold its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Tuesday, November 11 at 11:00 AM. The event will take place at The Moraine, located at 1201 Park Ave. W. The ceremony is organized in partnership with American Legion Post #145, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4737, and Jewish War Veterans Post #29.
The program will feature recognition of a local Hero Among Us, remarks from Mayor Rotering and other special guests, as well as performances by the Highland Park High School Brass Quintet and student vocalists.
A Remembrance Table, also known as the white table display, is currently set up at City Hall to honor missing or captured US military servicemembers. The display will remain available for viewing through Veterans Day.
On November 11, administrative offices and the Senior Center will be closed in observance of the holiday. Refuse, recycling, and compost pick-up services will continue without interruption. Residents needing assistance are advised to contact the public safety non-emergency line at 847.432.7730.
