Repairs will cause brief closure on Old McHenry Road

A portion of Lake County’s Old McHenry Road will be closed from Tuesday through the morning of June 15 to facilitate repairs of a Wisconsin Central Railroad crossing, according to the Lake County Department of Transportation (DOT).

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Old McHenry Road will be closed from its intersection with Midlothian Road to its intersection with Quentin Road. The transportation agency expects that Wisconsin Central Railroad’s repair work on the railway crossing in that section of the road to be complete by the late afternoon of June 15.

Commuters are encouraged to follow Quentin Road to Illinois Route 22, then continue onto Midlothian Road via Main Street.
