Highland Middle School (HMS) is set to host a Families Learning Together event focused on the challenges and milestones of growing up in the digital age.
The event, titled "Growing up in Public: Milestones of Growing Up in the Digital Age," will be presented by Dr. Devorah Heitner at 7 p.m. on May 5 at the Highland Middle School Learning Center.
Dr. Heitner is an accomplished author, known for her works "Growing Up in Public" and "Screenwise: Helping Kids Thrive (and Survive) in Their Digital World." Her research has been featured in prominent publications such as the New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and CNN Opinion. She holds a Ph.D. in Media/Technology & Society from Northwestern University and has taught at both DePaul and Northwestern.
During the session, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about various aspects of raising children in today's digital world.
