Report: Zion-Benton spent $14,486 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Zion-Benton Township High School District 126 is up 6 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $13,607 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $14,486 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2769 to 2620.

Zion-Benton's spending in 2016-17 was 12 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
