Lake County's Planning and Restoration Committee recently approved a revised concept plan for the Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve, District 13 board member Sandra Hart said. The revised plan was based on public feedback and on-site surveys of several potential parking lot locations. Project staff monitored three parking lots four times per day every day from March 17 to August 17.

After many delays, Diamond Lake Road in Lake County is now set to re-open by the end of October. The first delay was the result of creek diversion being overtopped by the large amount of rain (3-4 inches) that fell Sept. 17 -18, which postponed work on the site until the creek level went down.
The Lake County Division of Transportation (DOT) celebrated the completion of the Rollins Road-Route 83 upgrade project recently at the intersection, an event several local officials attended. "The quality-of-life improvement of projects such as this are inestimable," Lake County Board member Jeff Werfel said.
The intersection-improvement project underway at Ela Road and Route 12 in Lake Zurich has been postponed until spring, county officials said. The project, which began in August, was delayed when workers discovered a utility conflict on a corner of the intersection.

The Small Business Success in Lake County Goes Global event has been postponed and rescheduled for Thursday, May 5, 2016. The event originally was scheduled for Thursday Nov. 5, 2015. The Illinois Small Business Development Center of Lake County will host the annual event for people looking to take their small businesses to the next level.
